The Baby Boomer population has sentimental furniture that they want to preserve for their adult children. In hopes that its presents will always be with their children after they are long gone. Also, Baby Boomers do not want to give up the comfort and sit on their chairs. Newly built furniture does not have the solid structure of much older chairs.

Value of Older Furniture

As a rule, any furniture in good condition that passes through two generations starts increasing in value. A generation is loosely defined as 20- 25 years.  I predict that furniture built in the 1940s’ and 1950s’ will become extremely valuable in about 20 years now from as there is a limited amount made, there will never be furniture of this fine craftsmanship built again. There will be an increased population desiring a limited amount of quality, fine-built furniture with real quality wood and materials.  Never again will this fine furniture be built.  So take care of your family pieces.  They have emotional, sentimental, comfort, and value that you cannot put a price on. In short, your old family pieces are priceless
